Privacy Policy
Last updated 04 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Washoni collects, why it is collected, and what you may ask us to do about it. It applies to everyone who uses the service, wherever they are.
1. Who is responsible
Washoni is the controller of the personal data described here and decides how and why it is processed. To "process" personal data means to collect, record, store, use, share or erase it.
2. What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and any telephone number or photograph you add.
- Content — the records and files you create or upload while using the service.
- Technical data — sign-in times, the network address your device connects from, device and browser type, and the pages you access.
- Correspondence — messages you send us when asking for support.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
- To provide the service you asked for — to perform our contract with you.
- To keep the service secure and investigate misuse — our legitimate interest in protecting it and its users.
- To support you when you make contact — to perform our contract, or with your consent.
- To meet accounting, tax and other legal duties — to comply with a legal obligation.
4. Who else sees it
We do not sell personal data. We share it with the service providers that host and operate the service on our behalf, who act on our instructions and are bound to protect it; and with authorities where the law requires disclosure.
5. International transfers
The service may be operated from, and your personal data stored in, countries other than your own. Where personal data crosses a border we apply safeguards — contractual protections with the receiving party, and technical measures such as encryption — so that it remains protected to a standard equivalent to that in the country where you provided it.
6. How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active, and afterwards only where a legal, accounting or regulatory obligation requires it, or to resolve a dispute. When it is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
7. How we protect it
Access is restricted to those who need it, data is encrypted in transit, and access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, so we also prepare for and respond to incidents.
8. Your rights
8.1. Data protection law differs from country to country, and the rights available to you are those the law where you live gives you. In most places these include the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to object to or restrict how it is used, to withdraw consent you have given, and to receive your data in a portable form.
8.2. We honour these requests for every user, wherever they live, rather than only where a particular law compels us to.
8.3. If you believe we have mishandled your personal data you may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9. Making a request
Write to the address on our contact page. We will respond within the period the applicable law allows and may first ask you to confirm your identity.
10. Children
The service is not directed at children below the age at which their own consent is valid where they live. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so before the change takes effect.
